Nishyodhan Balasundram

Nishyodhan Balasundram is a second-year Master of Public Administration candidate, specialising in Economic Policy. Prior to the LSE, he served as an Analyst at the Central Bank of Malaysia. He has five years of experience as a financial regulator at the Prudential Financial Policy Department where he has worked on financial stability policies including the Leverage Ratio and Liquidity Risk Management Guidelines for banks. Nishyodhan holds a BSc. in Economics from University College London (UCL).

Zakkaria Bekkali

Zak is a second-year MPA candidate at the LSE, specializing in Social Impact. During the summer he worked at TIM, the largest Italian telecom company, supporting the Sustainability Department in their effort to push the Agenda 2030 into the firm’s strategic plan. Last year in his role as a Consultant, he worked with Bond, a last-mile delivery startup, collaborating with his clients to develop a strategic market expansion plan in  New York City, with a focus on neighborhoods characterized by high social impact potential. Upon graduation he briefly worked in southern Tanzania, where he contributed to the strategic expansion of local sunflower oil businesses which finance community-based rehabilitation centres for disabled individuals. During his undergraduate he interned as a consultant at Save The Children, where he initiated a professional training scheme for underage refugees in Milan. Zak holds a BSc. in International Politics and Government from Bocconi University and studied at Princeton University during his senior year. ​

Lauren Hendricks

Lauren is an MPA student at LSE where she volunteers as a Principal in Cognoscere, the school’s student-operated, pro-bono consulting group. Last year in her role as a Senior Consultant, she worked with Save the Children, collaborating with her clients to develop an organization-wide data analysis system. Before beginning her graduate studies, she worked in American electoral politics during the 2016, 2018, and 2020 cycles. She served as the Director of Surrogates and Events at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in Washington, D.C. from 2017-2019, and as an opposition researcher at the DNC and Hillary for America during the 2016 presidential election. From 2013-2015 she was a management consultant with Deloitte’s Strategy and Operations practice, specializing in the health care sector. In 2012, she earned a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Mongolia at the Erdenet School of Technology, and in 2011 was selected as a White House intern for Vice President Biden’s Chief of Staff. Lauren graduated with a BA in Public Policy from Duke University, with a double minor in English and Theater Studies.

Gisele Leon

Gisele is a second year Masters in Public Administration MPA specializing in Economic Policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico (Peru) and a Diploma in Public Administration from the Universidad de Piura (Peru). Gisele studied for a semester at the University of Economics and Business in Vienna (Austria) for her university exchange. She was Partner and Senior Analyst at Videnza Consultores, a consulting firm specialized in designing and evaluating public policies. The projects she oversaw were related to education, health, corporate responsibility and development. Gisele also performed as President and Fundraising Director of CAPA Peru, a non-profit organization which implements sustainable projects in remote communities of the Peruvian Amazon. She is a Fellow in the US Department of State Program “Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative”.

Guillermo Romero

Guillermo is a second year Masters in Public Administration MPA specializing in Social and Economic Policy. Prior to attending the LSE, he was a Research Consultant at the World Bank in Peru, where he contributed in various studies covering fiscal, urban development and migration policy. He also has a diverse volunteering background both in his home country and in Peru, most recently of which was in a non-profit organization known as CAPA Peru that focuses in the design of projects that seek to streamline social and human development in the Peruvian Amazon. Guillermo graduated from the European University with a BA in International Business Administration. ​
